The Celtic Tri Nations Gala held in the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin was a championship between Ireland, Scotland and Wales and also allowing the opportunity for club swimmers not representing their country to take part and compete against the best competitors from the three countries.
Enniskillen Lakelanders swimmer Paulius Andrijauska had a magnificent weekend winning a gold medal in every event he entered, 200m Butterfly, 100m Butterfly, 200m Freestyle and 100m Freestyle.
Paulius competes regularly at international level and has been a fantastic addition to the Lakelanders club. He is respected and admired by the younger club members and it can only be good for their further development to have the opportunity to train alongside a swimmer of this quality on a daily basis.
Chelsey Wilson, who was swimming for Team Ireland at this event, further confirmed her class as an international competitor by winning a bronze medal in both the 50m Backcrawl Skins and the 100m Backstroke.
She then had a tremendous swim to win silver in the 200m Backstroke.
Lucy Parkinson, representing Lakelanders, had a very successful gala, making the final of both the 50m Breaststroke Skins and the 200m Breaststroke finishing in eigth place in both these events.
