The Roads Service have advised the public that 100m of the B36 Dernawilt Road between Roslea and Lisnaskea will be closed to traffic for two weeks, commencing Monday last, 14th January 2008.
"The closure", a spokesman explained, " is necessary in order to facilitate repairs to the masonry arch bridge which spans the Finn River 400 metres west of Roslea". The work will address the recent significant deterioration of the cut stone arch of the bridge and it will involve the casting of a new in-situ reinforced concrete arch over the existing arch. This will strengthen the structure but will also retain the aesthetic quality of the bridge as the very attractive original stonework will remain visible.
