When The Mornin' Comes' is the long awaited new single from Thomas Maguire and Fhiona Ennis. Written in 1974 by American singer and songwriter Hoyt Axton, it was a top 40 hit in America for Hoyt and Linda Ronstadt and went to the number one in Canada.
Now, Thomas and Fhiona who will be at The Valley Hotel in Fivemiletown this Saturday, 19th January have brought the song right into the new millennium with the help of producer Jonathan Owens with whom they have worked to give it a slick new production with their own unique stamp on it. As well a single, the latest track will also appear on their new album set for release in the coming weeks.
The Fermanagh/Wexford combination of Thomas and Fhiona was born in 2005 with the release of their first duet 'Promised To John'. At that time both artists were working separately with their own bands but as time would tell they combined their talents to form Ireland's current only male/female country duo on the bigger touring scene.
'Promised To John' spawned Thomas and Fhiona's first album together by the same title, which was released in March 2006.
In October 2006 Thomas and Fhiona released Buck Owens' 'We Were Made For Each Other' and in December of the same year made the brave step of recording their own version of 'Fairytale Of New York' for the festive season, which was greeted with great enthusiasm from both the radio fraternity and listeners alike.
In 2007 they released 'We're Still Together' written by Roscommon's Frank Nelson. The song has been hugely popular for the pair raising their profile significantly.
Fhiona and Thomas' schedule at the moment is a hectic one as they travel across Ireland, Scotland and England. They have recently been expanding their horizons with a recent trip to Portugal and also joined Declan Nerney on his 'Hooley In The Sun'.
Thomas and Fhiona seem to be riding on the crest of a wave and with the management skills of Henry McMahon at the helm, the future is bright.
