Children at the Erne Integrated Primary School in Enniskillen took time out this week to celebrate 'Friendship Friday'.
A chatty and appropriately friendly mix of characters from Primary One to Five stopped to chat to the 'Herald' and tell us about why they are such great friends.
Primary Four pupils, Christopher Burns and Adam Kerr have been best friends since they started nursery and so know each other very well.
"He is a really good friend," Christopher says. "Whenever I am on the playstation or doing Maths you (turns to Adam) always help me. He's the same speed as me and he's good at games. And, if I do anything wrong, he says I don't, he sticks up for me. He's really, really, really, really good at catching people and good at racing. He was coming second in a race at Sports Day and then he came first."
The positive sentiments were echoed by Adam.
"Christopher's a very good friend because he is good at games. He's mostly good at English and he's a very good friend because he helps me a lot. Sometimes I go to his house and he comes over to mine and he helps me with games. He is really good on the trampoline, he is a really good jumper."
Meanwhile, P5 pupil Andy Miltathes-Tataraki-Jones has friends in and outside school.
"I have two friends, Conor McGovern and Tiernan Elliott. Conor usually plays with me and he sticks up for me. We play football and he says I score a lot of goals, and he always has an injury. We play for Ballinamallard, we both like doing nets. They are both really good at football. Conor's a Manchester United supporter and Tiernan's a Liverpool supporter but they are both wrong, they should be supporting Chelsea, they are the good team. My other friend, Conor Butler is very funny and he sticks up for me when I'm in trouble, he likes wrestling. I'm into football more and he still plays too."
For P1 pupils, Caitlin Martin, Mya Binnom and Cristie Burns, school plays a big role in friendship.
"Cristie is my friend because he plays with me outside, he is my best friend," suggests Caitlin.
"My friends are called Caitlin, Alana, Bethany, Aoife and Adam," says Mya.
"They play tig with me and they run with me. Sometimes Adam might come over to my house and I'll go over to his."
As for Cristie, he has a variety of friends.
"My friends are Caitlin and Mya, Maeve and Neill, and Bunny the rabbit and my baby brother. Caitlin is my friend because she will be married and will be a princess. She is friendly and we share. I also have a pet cat."
And finally, Primary Three buddies Conor Goodall and Oisin Mackin have also been friends for some time.
"Oisin is my friend because he helps me with maths sometimes," Conor explains.
"Most of the time, he comes over to my house. We play on the trampoline and the playstation. Once we started fighting and he gave me a black eye. He licked my nose after I was cheating on the nintendo. We always make up again."
"Sometimes I go to Conor's house," says Oisin.
"Mainly, we go to football, we play indoor soccer in the Forum. Once he came over and I have the Battle of Britain game. He shot and nearly shot a plane down.
"We are friends because we have known each other since we were in nursery."
