Seminar on equality for women

A major conference aimed at promoting equality for women throughout the county will take place in the Manor House Hotel next Monday, 2nd June.

For the past 18 months, Fermanagh Women's Network (FWN) has been engaged in the development of a gender equality strategy for the county to highlight support in gender awareness mechanisms that would be ultimately beneficial and inclusive to women and girls with various experiences and backgrounds.

SUPPORT

Since the Equality project became live, Fermanagh Women's Network has successfully attracted multi-agency support from local and regional organisations which advise on the project's direction via the Project Design Team.

The Project is now approaching the end of Phase I of its development. During this stage, it has delivered one-off, half-day gender awareness training sessions to over half a dozen groups within the County.

There is the possibility of additional sessions of gender awareness training in early Autumn, free of charge.

Anyone interested in coming to this event, or the Fermanagh Gender Equality Project generally, should contact the office on 028 6634 3814 or e-mail fwnwomen@yahoo.co.uk.
