Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious sexual assault in Irvinestown. A 20-year-old woman is alleged to have been attacked around 6.30pm in the Penny Lane area of the town on Monday 14 January.

The woman's attacker is describes as being around 40 years of age, he is said to be of heavy build with grey hair. The victim sustained scratches and bruising to her face and body during the incident. Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. They particularly want to hear from anyone who was in the area of the Main Street, Penny Lane, or the car park to which the lane leads.
