AUGHDRUMSEE ....................... 0-3
ROSLEA ................................. 0-13
It may have been a derby fixture but in the end there were no fireworks in this Aughdrumsee Roslea tussle. From the outset it was evident that Roslea were much the superior side and there was never any real uncertainty about the game's final outcome.
Roslea were dominant in most areas though it did take them an inordinately long time to ease themselves into a comfortable position.
Chief reason for this state of affairs was the inaccuracy of their attack which was to tally up a string of wides in the opening quarter. First score, after a number of shots had been tossed off the mark came on six minutes, this a James Sherry placed kick.
It took another ten minutes before Roslea added to that, Sherry again the contributor. After that however matters did perk up for Roslea in the scoring department with a more regular stream of points tacked on by Sherry, Kevin McAloon, James Boyle and Ruairi McGuinness. In response to this Aughdrumsee were to manage just a solitary score, this a pointed free on twenty one minutes.
In a game which was played in damp conditions, there had been a heavy rainstorm prior to the throw in and a drizzle for the match itself, Roslea went further in front on the resumption with scores from James and Eamon Sherry and it was not until the final quarter was well advanced before Aughdrumsee were to add to their total. In the end a very low affair with Roslea cantering to a facile success, late scores for them coming from Ruairi McGuinness and Ryan McCormack.
For the winners, Paul McKenna operated steadily in the back division, Kevin Cosgrove fetched well in the middle of the park and James Boyle looked lively in the attack. For outgunned Aughdrumsee, Shane Leonard had his moments in centrefield but this was limited Aughdrumsee display and they were a well beaten side from some distance out

Kinawley overcome poor start
KINAWLEY .............................. 1-12
DERRYLIN ................................ 1-4
Eight points the lead which Kinawley enjoyed at the finish of this South Fermanagh derby set to, but it was a local battle which saw Derrylin make much the more enterprising opening.
The O'Connell's had two quick scores one of which was a fifth minute goal from Mark Leavey, who got in on a ball which bounced over the Kinawley back line and he beat the advancing goalkeeper to the touch. But that goal was the last success for Derrylin until a minute prior to the interval when Cahir Shannon notched their second point of the evening.
In the intervening period Kinawley had steadily settled down and they began to shoot points at regular spaces. Three from Tomas Corrigan led the way for them with other scores supplied by Sean Leonard(rua) and Matthew Drumm.
It meant a one point advantage for improving Kinawley on the restart and within a few minutes of the third quarter getting underway they had widened the deficit. Sean Leonard fired over a point and then came the goal which virtually killed off the faltering Derrylin challenge.
Shaun Doherty made a purposeful run into the goal area, clipped over a fisted centre and the inrunning Shay Keenan finished off. For the remainder of a game which had some predictable hard hits, it was Kinawley who dominated and they added a further five points over the closing twenty minutes, Derrylin restricted to just two in reply. Derrylin's cause was knocked aside by the departure of Justin Gilheaney and with Mark Murphy tightly policed in the middle of the park, the O'Connell's had an uphill battle.
For Kinawley, Matthew Drumm had an excellent match in midfield with Tomas Corrigan and Shay Keenan tops in the attack.

St Josephs make a comeback
ST JOSEPHS ............................. 1-9
ERNE GAELS ........................... 0-10
Home side St Josephs made a slack opening to this contest falling several points in arrears within ten minutes and in those early exchanges it was the Belleek team who were running matters. Those early points were tossed over by Shane O'Brien and Conor Smith but then the good work was unravelled in quickfire fashion as St Josephs forced their way back with a sprightly spell.
Main score for the Ederney team was the goal which in the end proved to be the game's critical score. Enda Ferris was the man to find the net as he chased in a long ball and succeeded in getting the critical final touch on to beat the keeper.
A point was added to give the St Josephs side the lead but the half was to remain an evenly balanced one, Sean Sands collecting a couple of points for a determined Belleek squad, Enda Ferris and Peter Gormley answering for St Josephs.
At the break it was the home side one point to the good and though they were never to gain a comfortable position it was they who commanded most of the second half play. This authority was based on a strong centrefield effort delivered by Martin McGrath and Christopher Snow, especially the former who was the engine room of the team's fine overall effort.
For Erne Gaels, Ciaran Smith, Martin O'Shea and Damian Lyons all tried hard but it was St Josephs who had the edge over the closing thirty minutes.
