The pupils and staff of Brookeborough Primary School have been practising hard for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Jump Off.
The sponsored skipping challenge allowed the pupils to demonstrate the range of skills they have been working on in recent weeks. All pupils aged between four and 11 put on their trainers to take part.
In this fun event, the children had the opportunity to work together on skills such as the 'Egg beater' and 'Double Under' and demonstrated the wide range of ways a skipping rope can be used in healthy exercise.
Brookeborough Primary School took part in this skipping challenge as part of the national Jump Rope For Heart initiative organised by the BHF. The scheme promoted the importance of maintaining a healthy heart through regular exercise whilst raising funds for the BHF's life-saving work.
Hazel Gardiner Principal said, "Preparing for the Jump Off has given our pupils a reason to get moving, not to mention have lots of fun. The Jump Rope For Heart scheme helps us encourage healthy habits, whilst creating a more active ethos in school. It's a fantastic event for the school, teachers and pupils"
A cheque was presented to Mr Gary Wilson for £527.
