Fermanagh await the winners of this weeks Ulster semi final between Down and Armagh after their stunning victory over Derry in the semi final last weekend.
Regardless of the whom Fermanagh play the Ulster Championship Final has been confirmed for St Tiernach's Park, Clones on Sunday 20th July 2008.
It will be an All Ticket event and tickets will be available through the usual outlets. The Minor Football Final will be at 12.00pm, followed by the Senior Football Final at 2.00pm.
Meanwhile, Fermanagh forward Shane McCabe, who has been superbly influential in both Championship games to date is set to continue his role with the county team.
There was a doubt over McCabe's involvement in the final as Glentoran, who McCabe plays soccer with and has signed a contract, are playing in the UEFA cup first qualifying round on the Thursday night. Glentoran have confirmed that while they insist they have first preference over the player that they have no problem in him continuing playing for Fermanagh.
The draw for the UEFA cup is yet to be made but McCabe will be keeping his fingers crossed that the Glen's are handed a home tie as an away trip would men an arduous two day journey.
Meanwhile the Fermanagh County Board has decided to call off all senior club games, as well as all games involving Coa in the Erne Cup, due to the county seniors reaching the provincial final.
If Fermanagh lose in the Ulster final they will be back in action two weeks later on the weekend of August 2nd and 3rd in the third round of the qualifiers and if a historic first Anglo Celt can be won then Fermanagh will be out in the All Ireland Quarter finals on the weekend of August 9th and 10th. All this means that this Friday's league action will be the last action in either senior league or Championship until mid August at the earliest.
However all this does not mean that there is no football for the ordinary club player as the County Board have admirable arranged, at short notice, a competition for senior clubs but which excludes their county players.
The competition, which is yet to have a sponsor, will involve three groups of six teams. The games will take place on Friday and Sunday of each week with the final pencilled in for Friday 1st of August.
