Manager delighted
with mental strength

Fermanagh manager, Paula Cunningham, was delighted with the never say die attitude that her players displayed in Sunday's Ulster Intermediate final. Coming from behind on four different occasions Fermanagh were not to be beaten on the night.

"The girls did really well to fight back for the draw. Maybe in previous years Cavan would have stretched away and won by four or five points but that did not happen and they showed great fight and mental strength to come back."

And Cunningham explained that a draw was probably a fair result.

"It was a great advertisement for ladies football and was a smashing game. We played well at times and at the end it could have went either way so there is mixed emotions there but ultimately the draw was a fair result."

The Fermanagh manager will be looking for improvement from her girls and she believes that if they continue to work hard that improvement will come.

"I think the girls can improve from this game and already the girls have shown signs of progress from previous years so hopefully we can keep that going and win the replay, whenever that may be. It is just a matter of getting back to training and working on the few things that went wrong and hopefully we can get the win the next time."
