Club championship - just down the road

While here in Fermanagh the Club Championship is a long way off in neighbouring Tyrone the action is hotting up in their Championship.

In Donnelly Park, Trillick this Friday. Dromore open the defence of their county title against Omagh at 8.00 pm. Dromore won their first O'Neill Cup last year. They were narrowly defeated by Crossmaglen after a replay victory over Mayobridge in the Ulster Club Championship. Omagh are currently enjoying a rich vein of form following last week's 3-10 to 0-11 defeat of Errigal Ciaran. This eagerly awaited encounter should attract a large crowd and the hosts have been busy over the past months.

A maximum sized pitch and carefully manicured Prunty surface should encourage skillful football. The covered stand and extensive terracing will offer spectators a chance to view such county stars as Ryan McMenamin, Colm McCullagh, the McMahon brothers, Cathal McCarron on either side and a host of underage stars.

There will be pre-match and half-time traditional musical entertainment of the highest order with players who have represented Club and County in Scór, Scór na nÓg at provincial and All-Ireland levels.

There will be players who have won county titles the recent Fleadhanna in Roslea and Moy. Patrons are advised to come early, find a convenient parking place and soak up the atmosphere and culture. Parking is available at the following sign-posted locations:

Inside the ground for early arrivals

Chapel car park

Woodview Park

Silage fields (signposted) adjacent to the field

Leisure Centre for Officials and players
