This Saturday and Sunday the Irish Junior rowing championships take place in Cork. Portora have a full entry in all age groups from J14 to J18 - boys and girls.
Hopes are high for titles and medal placings throughout the spectrum. Portora has also had some success in representative honours as three members have been chosen to row for Ireland in the coming month.
Holly Nixon from Enniskillen and Thomas Little from Newtownbutler will be rowing in the Westrrn European championships - also in Cork - towards the end of the month while Karen Craig will be rowing in the Home Interantional series in Cardiff.
These are the first representaives form the new regime at Portora Boat Club under Derek Holland and Jane Fisher and there are surely more in the pipeline.
This weekend in Henley in England there will be a good representation from Fermanagh in the famous Henley regatta. Chris Abraham, Robert Kennedy, Leanne Lappin, and Leonora Kennedy will all be competing.
