The 'B' minor championship decider will be contested by Kinawley and Newtownbutler, these two sides coming through their respective semi final encounters with Aughdrumsee and Brookeboro.
Bigger of the two victories went to Kinawley who finished with a two goal success over Aughdrumsee despite the fact that they were absent one of their more influential forwards Tomas Corrigan.
His absence was notable however in the opening half as Kinawley found a lively Aughdrumsee a hot enough handful to cope with.
Aughdrumsee in fact were the more alert side over the opening twenty five minutes and they held the lead throughout this period.
Points for them, half a dozen in all, came from Eugene Kearins, Sean McManus and Damian Flanagan but just on the break, Aughdrumsee suffered a massive blow when they gifted the opposition the softest of goals.
A Kinawley 45 taken by Aodghan Murphy was allowed to sail all the way into the net and this gave Kinawley a totally unexpected one point interval lead.
It was also a score which completely deflated Aughdrumsee and when they re-emerged for the second half they were a pale shadow of the team who had played so purposefully prior to the interval.
Kinawley gained a commanding hold in several areas and they duly pushed on for the win.
A goal from Ruairi Corrigan on the threequarter mark put Kinawley well clear and they added a third goal from Paddy McGovern.
Aughdrumsee did have a goal in reply, this an opportunist effort from Damian Flanagan who chased in a long punt and beat the keeper to the bounce, fisting home, but by that stage Kinawley had the game sewn up.
For the winners, Aodghan Murphy had a strong midfield presence after the changeover, Noel Martin at full forward chipped in with a series of points and Paddy McGovern did well in the middle of the park.
For Aughdrumsee, Phillip Courtney produced a number of high quality saves and Eugene Kearins was their most consistent figure further outfield.
First half goal critical for
Newtownbutler in low key affair
NEWTOWNBUTLER .................. 1-10
BROOKEBORO .......................... 0-9
A first half goal for Newtownbutler was to be the critical score in this generally low key match which saw only a moderate standard of play.
The goal was to be a fisted effort from Barry Fitzpatrick and it gave his team an edge that was never to be blunted.
Brookeboro who were to have difficulty in fielding the required number of personnel and who had a player injured during the course of the game with no replacement on hand, were always facing an uphill struggle here.
They did have five points in the opening half, Christopher Howell their most prolific forward shooting three with other scores coming from Niall Moane and Ross Hennessey.
Moane and Howell were again to be on the mark in the second half with Conor Rooney also getting in on the scoring act but the team never managed to haul themselves back to level terms.
Points for Newtownbutler were to be knocked over by Adam Cartwright, Conor Beggan and Nathan Fitzpatrick and in the end it was to be a routine enough win for the youthful First Fermanagh's.
For Brookeboro, goalkeeper Gerry Flynn did well throughout, Emmet Murphy worked diligently in the defence with Christopher Howell and Ryan Toye trying hard up front.
For Newtown, full back Conor Maguire and half back James McMahon were much to the fore with Pauric McCarney at half forward also showing up promisingly.
