With adaptive rowing making its Paralympic debut in Beijing this summer ParalympicsGB have today named Ballinamallard's Karen Cromie as part of its first ever Paralympic rowing squad for the Games.
Britain will be represented in all four boat classes at this summer's Paralympic Games in Beijing following British performances at the 2007 World Rowing Championships in Munich, with Cromie set to compete in the mixed double scull with Wales' James Roberts (TA2x).
Cromie and Roberts are joined the squad by London's Tom Aggar in the men's single scull, Farnborough's Helene Raynsford in the women's single scull and Naomi Riches (Bucks), James Morgan (Kent), Alastair McKean (Kent), Vicki Hansford (Farnborough) and cox Alan Sherman (London) in the mixed coxed four.
Louise Kingsley, GB Paralympic Rowing Team Manager said: "Beijing, I'm sure, will be a significant challenge but we are well-prepared and recent training has gone well. We very much look forward to joining the Paralympic Games family."
