NEWTOWNBUTLER ................................ 2-15
DERRYLIN .............................................. 0-9
First division Newtown had no problems in accounting for second division opposition Derrylin, the game as a contest over by the time that the interval was reached, the First Fermanagh's by that stage eleven points clear.
Derrylin however could point to the fact that they had fielded a side which was relatively a skeleton one and there were quite a number of fresh faces on board.
The O'Connell's were to be seriously under pressure in the opening half as Newtown gained a firm grip in most sectors of the park. Derrylin were to respond to the Newtown onslaught with just a two point answer, these scores coming from Cahir Shannon and Barry Murray.
Up at the other end the scores were coming regularly for a Newtown attack which was being fed an ample supply of possession. They had points from Colm Monaghan, Shane Leonard and James Connolly and duly crowned their commanding first half effort with a goal, this coming on twenty minutes, Nathan Fitzpatrick the marksman.
In the second half, matters did improve somewhat for outgunned Derrylin and they were to make a reasonable fist of matters, hitting a seven points tally. Barry Murray was again on the scoresheet for them with Miceal Shannon and Kevin McCusker also adding scores.
But though Newtown had taken their foot off the pedal to some extent, the first division side still worked their way in for further scores which ensured that the gap separating the sides was always an extensive one.
Goal two for the leaders was to arrive on the threequarter mark, Brendan McBrien who had an especially lively match, scoring here.
Overall it had been a routine affair for the winners though Derrylin did come more into the picture after the changeover.

AUGHDRUMSEE .................................... 0-10
ST PATRICK'S ........................................ 1-7
An even enough tussle in this neighbourly tussle, Aughdrumsee earning themselves a share of the spoils with a late levelling point knocked over by Sean McManus.
It was a deserved result for the second division side for, particularly in the first half they could claim that they had actually shaded exchanges.
But despite having done so they were to go in at the changeover two points adrift. That this was so was down to two reasons.
One had been the inaccuracy of the Aughdrumsee attack who over those thirty minutes had contrived to miss a sizeable number of opportunities. Secondly the visiting Donagh side had snatched what eventually proved to be the game's only goal.
This goal came towards the end of the first quarter, Jason Cadden poking to the net from close range. St Patricks had points added on by Kevin Maguire and Paul McElroy to keep themselves ahead.
Answering for Aughdrumsee, a tally of four points here, were Sean McManus with two, plus a single each from Daryl and Ryan Boyle.
St Patricks were to push on after the resumption and with further scores from Kevin Maguire and Jason Cadden they stretched out into a five point advantage.
It should have been sufficient for them to close out the result but Aughdrumsee had always looked positive from the outset and they were able to launch a spirited revival in the final quarter.
Points from Daryl Kearins brought them back within range and with St Patrick's beginning to falter, the home side duly pressed on to earn their draw. For Aughdrumsee, debutant Ciaran Flynn had a fine match at corner back and Eugene Kearins featured further up the pitch.
For St Patrick's Paul McElroy worked hard in the middle of the park with Kevin Maguire a presence in their attack.
