Roads money to benefit motorists

This week's announcement of £316 million investment in the local road network by Minister Conor Murphy will benefit Fermanagh motorists.

The announcement of the major roads investment was made when Conor Murphy awarded a contract which will complete the dualling of the Belfast to Dublin road along with improved accessibility to the West.

The schemes that will benefit from this funding include the upgrading to dual-carriageway of the A4 Dungannon to Ballygawley road and road improvements along the A4 between Ballygawley and Augher.

The dualling of the A4 from Dungannon to Ballygawley, which will greatly reduce journey times between Fermanagh and Belfast, will involve the upgrading of approximately 20.5kms of the A4 between Dungannon and Ballygawley.
