A woman was assisted down from the slopes of Cuilcagh Mountain when members of the North West Mountain Rescue Team (NWMRT) came to her aid.
The incident happened on Easter Monday when a report was lodged with the Mountain Rescue Team.
A spokesperson for the NWMRT explained: "At a little after 1530, the NWMRT were called out to a report that a member of a six strong local walking party had become hypothermic and passed out. The team made contact with a member of the party by mobile phone. They ascertained that the adult female had recovered slightly and that the party were now attempting to descend Cuilcagh but that assistance would be required."
As a result of the call, a response team from the NWMRT's West section was dispatched. It located the party within 40 minutes. After initial assessment and some warm liquids, it was decided that the casualty and party could be transported by the NWMRT to their own vehicles. On arrival at the car park, the casualty showed signs of a full recovery and medical intervention was not deemed necessary.
Team leader Joe Dowdall, said: "The mountains can be a dangerous place. This was a fortunate case, but we remind all hill goers to ensure that they have suitable equipment for the conditions, including warm clothing and food and drink."
