LISNASKEA'S Struttin' Stars have scooped five Ulster titles at the Ulster line dancing championships.

Picking up second place awards were Marie Wray, Pauline Callow, Julie Rice and Courtney McGoldrick. Those to pick up a third place award included Rionagh Durnien, Natasha Callow and Caoimhe Durnien.

The club was placed in the top seven overall at the event which attracted 200 competitors and stiff competition across the board. Dancing for the first time were Erin Reilly, Dearbhla Hanna, Louise McGorman, Aoife Teague, Jane Curran and Emma McManus.

TRAINED

Having trained for the past few months under the guidance of Mary Wray and Fred-og Whitehouse, the dancers showed off their improved technique and style.

"I would like to thank the dancers for their hard work and commitment," said Mary Wray, "and also their parents for all their much needed support. On behalf of all the dancers and parents we would like to thank Fred, world superstar champion from Tyrone, who travelled down to Fermanagh to help them prepare so well.

This event is a qualifier for the European championships to be held in Bristol at the end of February and all the dancers will now be setting high standards for the next qualifying heat in January."
