Ballinamallard win fit factor challenge

Ballinamallard Primary School is celebrating after being chosen as the Fermanagh winner of the Lidl Fit Factor Challenge, a competition designed to promote healthy eating and physical activity, developed in conjunction with the Ulster Cancer Foundation.

Ballinamallard joins five other Primary Schools from across Northern Ireland who were named individual county winners and received a bonus cash prize of £200.

The six schools will now go head to head to compete for the top prize of £5,000 to spend on sports equipment and the honour of being crowned 'Lidl Fit Factor Challenge Champions'. Runners up prizes are also at stake with 2nd place receiving £3,000; 3rd place £2,000 and 4th place £1,000 to spend on sports equipment.

Ballinamallard needs your vote in their quest for the top prize as the overall winners will be chosen based on the following criteria:

* 50% on the number of votes received

* 50% on the decision of the independent judging panel, consisting of high calibre local sports stars.

The judging panel is made up of Olympic Boxing medallist, Paddy Barnes; Rory Best, Ulster and Ireland Rugby star, Tyrone's Sean Cavanagh and Belfast Telegraph sports editor, Steven Beacom.

To vote for Ballinamallard, log onto www.fitfactor.co.uk Voting opened at 9am on Monday and closes at 5pm on Monday 18th May.
