About Us
The North West of Ireland Printing & Publishing Company is a family-run weekly newspaper business based in Omagh, Co. Tyrone. Founded in 1901 with the establishment of the Ulster Herald newspaper, the company today publishes six titles, covering counties Tyrone, Fermanagh and Donegal with Gaelic Life now reaching readers throughout the province of Ulster.
The company has sites in Omagh, Strabane, Enniskillen and Letterkenny, and employs 100 fulltime staff across the North-West region. The company has invested considerably in its titles over the past few years as well as upgrading its company headquarters and printing facilities.

Tyrone Herald (Monday)
Launched in November 2004, the Tyrone Herald has recorded remarkable circulation success since its inception and has been recognised as one of the fastest growing weekly newspapers in Ireland and the UK. It prides itself on being the first publication of the week in Tyrone with all the weekend news and sport. The Tyrone Herald ABC figures for January - June ‘06 is 5,454*.
Fermanagh Herald (Wednesday)
Established in 1902, the Fermanagh Herald has also wit-
nessed significant circulation success and is now the largest circulating newspaper within the NWIPP group. The paper has produced year on year sales increases since 1999 with the latest
Jan-Jun’06 ABC figure reaching a massive 13,029*.
Ulster Herald (Thursday)
Founded in 1901, the Ulster Herald underwent a major relaunch
during the summer of 2006 when it switched to compact format to the delight of its readers throughout Tyrone. The Herald is the most popular weekly newspaper in West Tyrone selling 12,468* copies every week. It has won the Newspaper Society Weekly Newspaper of the Year award for Northern Ireland in 2002 and 2003 and the BT/IPR Newspaper of the Year Award in 2004.
Strabane Chronicle (Thursday)
The oldest paper in the company, it was founded in 1896.
The leading newspaper in Strabane, the Chronicle sells 5,314* copies every Thursday and is valued for its strong local news and sport.
Donegal News (Monday and Friday)
The Donegal News, previously branded as the Derry People & Donegal News, enjoys unrivalled popularity in North and West Donegal, selling 12,619* copies every Friday. Established in 1902, the newspaper is based in Letterkenny and became bi-weekly in November 2006 with the launch of its Monday edition.

NWIPP provide a multi-media mix for its readership and currently has a website presence for its core titles. Our online editions reach all areas of life from news to sport to entertainment in a style that is challenging, enjoyable and interactive with our readers.
Throughout 2006, the company's four websites for the Ulster Herald, Fermanagh Herald, Donegal News and Strabane Chronicle collectively recorded over 4 million page impressions and offers potential advertisers an ideal opportunity to target a localised audience.
The company is constantly reviewing and evolving its online presence to meet reader expectations and it is planned to unveil a new website dedicated to Gaelic Life to coincide with the launch of the publication in January 2007.
