RETAIL giant Argos is set to open its doors in Strabane in the coming months.
Argos, which has stores in neighbouring Omagh and Derry, has confirmed that it is to open a store in the town by the summer.
The boost to the town's economy was confirmed by a spokesperson at the company's headquarters this week.
They plan to open as early as June at the new retail park being built close to the town centre.
The catalogue chain store is to move into one of four units currently under construction by Dungannon-based Jermon Developments.
It has been responsible for the Spring Hill Shopping Centre in Bangor, the Castle Place development in Belfast City Centre, and the Potthouse development, also in Belfast.
A spokesperson for the construction firm said, "We are talking to a number of stores with a view to the Strabane development but we cannot confirm anything at the moment.
"Needless to say we are very excited at the prospect of new stores in our development.
"We hope to be able to announce something in the near future."
