Strabane DPP launches its report

Strabane District Policing Partnership this week published its 4th Annual report, which contains an overview of its work during the period April 1 2006 to March 31, 2007.

Welcoming the Report, DPP Chairman Councillor Eugene McMenamin said, "This Annual Report enables us to inform each and every resident in Strabane District what we are doing and how to contact us. 2006/2007 has been another vibrant year for Strabane DPP where we have exceeded expectations in the delivery of our main statutory functions."

"Whilst monitoring and consultation remain the foundation of Strabane DPP, this year we have also focused on engaging and mobilising local people to assist us in getting policing right and keeping all our communities safe."

Looking ahead, Councillor McMenamin said that Strabane DPP still faced many challenges."We know that not all sections of the community are ready to engage in our work. Yet, we remain committed in our efforts in the understanding that ultimately - whether inside or outside the process - everyone wants to see a reduction in crime, the fear of crime and the delivery of an effective policing service for all in Strabane District. "

A copy of the Annual Report will be distributed to every household in the Strabane District Council area. Additional copies are available by contacting the DPP office, telephone 028 7138 1333 or may be downloaded from our website HYPERLINK "http://www.districtpolicing.com/strabane" www.districtpolicing.com/strabane.
