The North West Wellness Centre plans to have a temporary monograph unit in place by Spring 2008 and this unit will screen patients who feel the need for a mammogram at any age between 18 to 99. There will be a small fee for those who can afford to pay but no one will be turned away. If you need more information please contact Alma O Donnell on 91 40186 or any other member of Donegal Action for Cancer Care. We are all only too happy to help.

Lunch Club

The Lunch Club resumed very successfully again after the long summer break. It was lovely to see all our members back again. Our morning began taking time for a quiet reflection remembering our two members Annie Lynch and Hannah Keys who sadly passed away during our break. We had the usual cuppas and Myra's buns followed by two games of bingo, prizes were won by Florrie Duncan, Rose Toland, Lila Magee and Gretta Glynn. The door prize was won by Peggy McGee. Everybody then enjoyed Rosie's famous Shepherd's Pie and a generous helping of Sherry Trifle. Forty-five members of the lunch club recently went to the luxurious Castle Court in Westport, Co Mayo.

John Doherty's Group

A residential for the young people of the area has been organised for the weekend of October 12-14 to Toddsleap. Details from Joe Porter at the Resource Centre.

Social Welfare Officer

The Social Welfare Officer can be seen on Wednesdays between 10.30 am to 11.30 am in Practice Nurse's Room Office at the Resource Centre. Telephone 074 91 41691.
