End stone attacks
Police in Strabane are calling for the assistance of parents and community leaders to help bring an end to stone-throwing incidents on the town's by-pass.
In recent weeks, police have received several reports of vehicles being damaged as they travelled along the by-pass between the Urney Road junction and the Dublin Road roundabout.
Many of these have involved stones thrown by youths and children from high ground alongside the route.
Police say that apart from causing damage to vehicles, the incidents create a safety risk to all roadusers and pedestrians should a driver lose control after a strike on a vehicle.
Pedestrian zone abuse
MOTORISTS abusing the pedestrian zone limitations at Castle Street in Strabane are running the risk of receiving tickets, police are warning.
The only vehicles allowed to enter the pedestrian zone are those used by permit holders and vehicles making deliveries to shops.

Police will be monitoring the situation to curb contraventions of the regulations.
