The Mc Aleer/Mc Cafferty Sinn Féin Cumann has warned young people involved in anti-social activity in the Lisnafin Park area to desist from their actions or parents will be told.
A spokesperson for the local Sinn Fein Cumann said, "This anti-social activity has taken the form of repeated attacks on the home of an elderly resident in the area and repeated damage to the fencing surrounding the play park.
"While those involved may think that by an attacking this elderly resident that they are picking on a soft target and that there will be no come back, residents are incensed by these cowardly actions and have handed the names of those involved to the Cumann.
"The same small group has been identified as being responsible for ripping off sections of the fencing surrounding the play park. On the first occasion Council repaired the damage, but on the second occasion Council warned that due to limited resources it cannot continue to do so. If this vandalism is allowed to continue, then not only will the safety of young children using the park be put at risk but the future of the play park will be put in jeopardy. If this small group does not desist, we will be letting their parents know what they have been up to."
