Minimum fuss with Lima

TO install a conservatory, you have to wait for the builders. Then for the glass to come. Then for the... well, you get the picture. It's no wonder that people see installing a conservatory or sunroom as a major task and as a potential headache.

But what if it could be done in just two days, with minimum fuss, mess and disruption?

That's now a very real possibility thanks to an innovative new product by Strabane-based Lima Building Systems. Their new prefabricated rooms are built off-site at their Dublin Road factory and is simply lifted by crane off the back of a lorry and into position. No hassle, no dirt, it's just lowered onto the foundations and ready for action.

The wide choice of designs means that your room can come already fitted with a pine ceiling, panelling, or any other extras you may want included depending on whether it is to be used as a sunroom, kitchen, or even just as an extra space. Not only is it convenient, but the price of a Lima room also compares favourably with the traditional methods of building such a room.

Lima Managing Director Kieran Houston explains that the idea has taken two years to develop from conception to the first system being installed at a local Strabane house last week.

"We have already installed sunrooms but those were built in a number of pieces, so then I began to research how we could make it as a single unit and that's what we have achieved.

"It guarantees you that you will not have to put up with living in a building site for weeks and you will not have to wait for the plumber or the plasterer. It's an exciting concept, a system which works and a real alternative for anyone interested in installing an extra room or space to their home."
