News in brief

Tyrone Feis

The Barrett School of Irish Dancing are hosting the County Tyrone Championships this weekend, on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of September, in St Patrick's Hall, Barrack Street, Strabane.

Approximately 12 years ago the Ulster Championships were held here.

Last year's competition was a great success with competitors, audience and judges commenting on both the high standard of competition and the suitability of the venue.

With competitors from all over Ulster and several neighbouring counties, the Organising Committee of The Barrett School of Irish Dancing was more than pleased, but this years competition will be even bigger with inquiries from all over Ireland.

So if you have any free time this Saturday or Sunday, why not drop in to St. Pat's Hall and support your Irish culture.

You may see some members of the next generation of River Dance or even the next Jean Butler or Michael Flately!

All proceeds of the Feis are donated to charity.
