LAST Friday saw the Alley Theatre introduce the inspiring performance of Traditions Meet.
Traditions Meet gives an excellent example of people coming together to explore and celebrate their local identity, culture and heritage, often seen as a possible source of conflict and tension.
Traditions Meet demonstrated that culture can be used as a positive asset, which can help to build relationships, trust and understanding.
"The show included not only traditional Irish and Ulster Scots dance, but also several specially choreographed dance pieces for the one off event.
The show seeks to enlighten and entertain, celebrating both Ulster Scots and Irish Music, song and dance.
Nathan Flatman, marketing officer for the Alley Theatre, said, "The show was a wonderful combination of the two cultures, working in harmony to produce an inspiring stage show.
"Whether your interest lies in Irish or Ulster Scots music and dance, these two cultures merged to produce a production that will certainly not be forgotten."
