A Strabane female received a conditional discharge at the towns Magistrate's Court on Thursday for assaulting a teenage girl.
On September 12 last year at 8.30pm police were told of an assault on an 18 year-old girl in the Courtrai Park area of Strabane.
The defendant was identified by a friend of the injured party, who had been kicked, punched and had her hair pulled in the attack.
When questioned, 28 year-old Denise Diver, from Springhill Park, said that she was drunk.
She said that she remembered having a verbal exchange with someone, but didn't remember a physical confrontation.
A solicitor said this was the first time his client had been before a court, and that the truth of the matter was that she was so drunk that she doesn't remember what happened.
He explained that she had gone to England soon after to escape a violent relationship, and as a consequence had failed to address the matter in court.
The RM granted a conditional discharge for two years, and ordered the defendant to stay out of trouble.
She was also ordered to pay £100 compensation to the injured party.
