Management material at 20

A 20 year old Strabane man is moving up the ladder on a remarkable scale. That's according to his employer, Northbrook.

The company, currently trawling for new recruits, has pointed to the success story of Stephen Lomas as one good reason to come on board.

Stephen has worked with Northbrook for the past two years and in that short time he has excelled.

He started his career as a call centre Analyst in December 2004 and quickly progressed to a role within the training team. In January of this year he was promoted to Team Manager and had the opportunity to participate in the Management Development Programme.

His Management Report was one of the highest scoring within the company and has added real value to the business.

On a day to day basis as a team manager Stephen's job is very varied, managing a team of some 18 people.

Stephen said, "My role has many responsibilities, including a lot of adhoc issues such as client complaints.

"I also attend weekly conference calls with our counterparts in Roanoke, USA, to discuss strategies and high level issues directly dealing with the running of the business.

"I would never have got the opportunities that I have received at Northbrook.

"I feel the personal development since I started has been immense. I have become more confident in my own abilities and have gained a lot of business skills from not just training programmes but by dealing with the everyday issues that I come across on a daily basis.

"I see my future with Northbrook as there are so many opportunities. The flexibility of the working hours also lets me spend time with my family during the day."

Northbrook Technology currently has a range of recruitment opportunities available on a flexible basis.
