News in brief


House broken into

A vacant house was broken into in The Paddock area of Sion Mills.

The owner reported the incident to police on Saturday afternoon (4th).

It is understood the culprits gained access by smashing a small utility room window.

Nothing was taken from the property.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact local police on 0845 600 8000 or 'Crimestoppers' on 0800 555 111.

Car window smashed

The front windscreen of a car travelling through Springhill Park was damaged during an incident on Friday evening (3rd).

The driver was in the area at approximately 7pm when it is understood a youth threw something at the car.

Anyone who was in the area and could help identify the culprit is asked to contact Strabane police on 0845 600 8000 or 'Crimestoppers' on 0800 555 111.

Monthly draw

St Vincent de Paul, Strabane & District Members' Lucky Lotto Monthly Draw.

The draw took place on Sunday 5th August 2007 at Melmount Parish Bingo.

The numbers drawn were: 17, 18, 19, 21. There was no jackpot winner.

There were 7 match 3 winners who shared £300; Dympna Boyle, Ashgrove Park; Josie Gallagher, Glen Road; Anna Caldwell, Holyhill Road; Patrick Brolly, Sessiagh, Castlefin; May Ferguson, Mulvey House; Joe Lafferty, Clady and Philomena Doherty, Glen Road.

Jackpot for September is £1,300.

If there are no match 4 winners in September match 3 winners will win or share £300

Promoters are asked to have September draw envelopes returned on or before 25th August 2007

Next Draw will take place at 9pm on Sunday 2nd September at Melmount Parish Bingo.

Flag Day Thanks

Strabane Sub-Aqua Club on their 30th year Anniversary would like to thank all those who contributed to their recent flag day.

A total of £895 and 172.72 euros was collected for the club.
