ARLENE Arkinson was 15 when she disappeared in the early hours of Sunday, August 14, 1994 after a night out at a disco in Bundoran, Co Donegal.
Her disapperance prompted one of the largest manhunts ever witnessed in Ireland, however her body has never been recovered.
The last person to see the schoolgirl alive was Robert Lesarian Howard. Despite strong suspicions that he was behind the teenager's disappearance, Howard was tried and cleared by a majority verdict of ten to two in 2005.
Following Howard's acquittal, reporting restrictions were lifted, revealing his lurid 40 year history as a convicted killer, child abuser and rapist.
Howard is currently serving a life sentence in England for the murder of 15-year-old schoolgirl Hannah Williams. However, a coroner's ruling this week could see the man nicknamed 'The Wolfman' by police, return to Northern Ireland as a witness at the inquest into Arlene Arkinson's death.
