Local woman strikes lucky for new car

A Douglas Bridge shopper was celebrating last week after being presented with the keys to a brand new car.

Ruby Nelson was the lucky winner of the new Fiat Punto, chosen from over 10,000 hopefuls from across the North, and was at her local store, Devine's Day Today in Victoria Bridge, to collect the keys of her new vehicle.

The competition was part of the big Scratch & Match promotion, which ran over March and April of this year. Throughout this six week period, if Day Today customers spent £5 they received a scratchcard, which gave them the chance to win a prizes in-store and entry to the overall prize for a new Fiat Punto from Mervyn Stewart's in Belfast.

Prizewinner Ruby said, "It was a great surprise to have won it. I drive myself and it was very nice to get a new car. Devine's is now our local shop because we don't have a shop here in Douglas Bridge. It's great to have won and it's fantastic to win a competition like this."
