The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) in Ireland North Western Centre hosted its annual dinner and student award ceremony at the City Hotel, Derry, recently.
Guests on the night included Councillor Helen Quigley, Mayor of Derry, Christine Williams (Chair CIOB in Ireland), Diana Fitzsimmons (Chair RICS), Trevor Patterson (Director of Change Management CIOB, John Mc Millen (Chair ICE), Eddie Kerr (President in NW RIBA), JJ Doherty (Past Chair CIOB in Ireland)
The evening was a celebration of the Centre's success and achievements over the last year. Darren Buchanan, Letterkenny Institute of Technology was presented with the Joe White Memorial Award. Darren was one of seven CIOB Bronze Medal winners from the local colleges within the North West Centres Region. The North Western Centre would like to congratulate all seven Bronze Medal winners on their outstanding performance in their studies. The winners were; Clodagh Mullen, Kyra Mc Farland, Corin Campbell, Brian Shovlin, Francis Maguire, Eoin Kelly and Darren Buchanan.
Martin Gallen, ICIOB Honorary Secretary, said, "On behalf of the centre I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all who contributed to the charity donations which totalled £1,651.
"This year's nominated charity was the Foyle Parents and Friends Association who were represented on the night by Desy Carton.
Once again, on behalf of the Chartered Institute of Building in Ireland North Western Centre, I would like to thank all who took part in the evening for helping us make the event such a success."
