Whole lotta Zep as tribute band hits town

The Rubber Plants, the ultimate Led Zeppelin Tribute band, are set to launch a two-hour set of classic Led Zeppelin tracks at the Alley Theatre, Strabane, supported by RE/MAX on Friday June 13 at 8pm. Founded in the late 90's, the Rubber Plans are a tight, professional Led Zeppelin tribute band, whose dynamic two hours set have been distilled into an exciting mixture of power and invocation which captures the spirit of the original masters, Led Zeppelin.

Led Zeppelin, who formed in August 1968, consisted of Jimmy Page (guitar), Robert Plant (vocals), John Paul Jones (bass guitar, keyboards) and John Bonham (drums).

With their heavy, guitar-driven sound, Led Zeppelin are regarded as one of the first heavy metal bands. However, the band's individualistic style draws from many sources and transcends any one genre. The band has sold more than 300 million albums worldwide, including 111.5 million sales in the US and they have had all their non-compilation studio albums reach the U.S. Billboard Top 10. Led Zeppelin are ranked No. 1 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. Last December the surviving members of Led Zeppelin reunited (along with deceased drummer John Bonham's son Jason) for a reunion concert at the O2 arena in London. Tyrone patrons can expect the Rubber Plants to have a packed set including Zeppelin classics like Stairway to Heaven, Whole Lotta Love - Rock and Roll, Ten Years Gone, Battle of Evermore, Going to California, Black Country Woman, Nobody's Fault But Mine, Over the Hills and Far Away and Since I've Been Loving You.
