U3A agm
This month, Strabane U3A - the local third age group - begins yet another
new season of activities which culminate each month with a social evening in
the Day Centre at the rear of the County Buildings in Barrack Street on the
evening of the third Thursday.
The social programme will of course vary, but firstly, on Thursday, Sept.
20th at 7.30pm, the 100 plus members will review the past year at an AGM
which, despite the statutory election of officers, will be held in an
informal atmosphere. Members will be expected to pay their 07-08 fees and of
course new members would be made very welcome.
President is Mr James Thompson and Mrs Sally Moss, the outgoing
vice-chairman, automatically succeeds Mrs Bridie Timmons as Chairman after
her two year term in office. Otherwise the other officer posts and committee
membership are vacant, and the agm is an opportunity for any member to
declare they are prepared to take a more active role in U3A.
