Get hooked on Peter Pan this Christmas

TRAVELLING to Belfast for the inevitable festive shopping trip in the next few weeks? Why not give the kids a treat by taking them to the Grand Opera house which is presenting a new and spectacular production of Peter Pan.

The North's biggest panto will star Jack Ellis as Captain Hook. Familiar to millions for his role as Jim Fenner in the hit TV series Bad Girls, Jack has previously performed on the Grand Opera House stage as Orsino in Twelfth Night with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

The one and only May McFettridge, who this year celebrates her 16th year starring in a Grand Opera House pantomime, takes on the hilarious role of Mrs Smee.

Playing the part of Peter Pan, 'the boy who never grew up', is Aston Merrygold from the popular CiTV children's programme Fun Song Factory.

He will be joined by Belfast's own Paddy Jenkins who will play the role of Starkey and who can currently be seen on our television screens in CiTV's Bel's Boys.

Peter Pan will be staged by the same team that produced last year's production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and audiences can expect stunning sets, beautiful costumes, real 'flying' and all-round Christmas entertainment for the whole family.

Panto workshops for schools will take place throughout December and January in The Baby Grand. These will give participants to learn about the Festive tradition of Panto and are suitable for children in Key Stages 1 & 2.

Contact the Box Office for further information.

Tickets are selling very fast, so book your tickets now. Peter Pan runs at the Grand Opera House from Saturday December 2 until Saturday January 20 2007.
