Cappagh take Grade 2 Final

Grade 2 Juvenile Ladies League Final

Cappagh v Donaghmore

Those who think ladies football is dull should have been at Gardrum Park, Dromore for this cracking Grade 2 Juvenile League Final where two evenly matched teams played hard to win the title. Cappagh ladies started off at a very fast pace where they went 6 points up 15 minutes into the game, but Donaghmore came back to cut the deficit down to 4 points at half time which left the game poised for an entertaining second half.

At the start of the second half Donaghmore came out with all guns blazing and within 15 minutes they were 4 points ahead by 2 well taken goals by Rebecca McCrory. That left the game evenly matched until a minute into injury time where Donaghmore give the ball away coming out from the back line for Clodagh Poyntz to pick it up and place it in the top corner of the net leaving it all level. Cappagh won the kickout which then led to a free for Cappagh for Clodagh Poyntz to kick the winning point to leave the final score 4-5 to 3-7.
