Dromore musicians
celebrate

DROMORE Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann hosted a very enjoyable function recently in the Village Inn, Killyclogher, to mark the outstanding success of their young musicians at the County, Provincial and All-Ireland Fleadhs. James McBride, chairman, congratulated those who had brought distinction to the Branch by their achievements and introduced Lawrence Quinn, President of the Branch who presented the beautiful engraved Druid Craft trophies.

The three All-Ireland winners were Aidan O'Neill, Cathaoir McElholm and Nuala McBride. Receiving trophies as a result of success at Ulster Fleadh were Dylan McLaughlin, Sean Dolan, Conor Woods, Tomas Quinn, John Woods, Mary Kate McQuaid, Ryan Shannon, Catriona Garry, Rosanna Ward, Aoibheann Gormley, Aine Nugent, Michael McCaughey and Hugh Quinn. Those who represented the Branch at the Tyrone Fleadh were Michael McQuiad, Mairead McBride, Aoife Slevin, Catherine Woods, Mairead Kelly, Laura Maguire, Elizabeth Daly, James McCaffrey, Gemma Farry, Marcus Ward and Daire McQuaid. Parents and friends of the winners joined them for the presentation and enjoyed the lovely buffet which followed the presentation.

The group moved to the bar where, at an impromptu session, the musicians displayed the musical and vocal talents which made them very worthy of their success.

The first committe meeting of Dromore CCE for 2007 takes place in the Day Centre on Thursday, January 11 at 8.30pm. It is important that all members attend as this promises to be a very busy year with the Tyrone fleadh in Trillick in June and hopefully another traditional weekend in September.

The Dromore CCE January session is in the Father Matt Hall, Trillick on Saturday, January 13. This venue is always popular and a great night's entertainment is promised. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the lovely music, song and stories, so do join us there.
