ERRIGAL CIARAN

It is commiserations this week to both our novelty act and quiz team who lost out in their respective heats of the Scor final. We thank all who participated after a year of excellent club participation which we hope to see maintained in the future. Well done to our highly intellectual quiz team of Mark Harte, Neil Montague and John Joe Campbell and to Dermot McCann, Pat Mullin, Briege Tierney, Vincent McGirr, Jim Kelly and Sean Mullin who portrayed their exceptional acting skills. Our dinner dance was a great success and a tribute to all who helped organise. We thank Kelly's for their excellent service and hospitality and to our special guests on the night, Frank Higgins and Gerry Donnelly. We hope that this time next year we are in a similar position when it comes to looking back on another season. We had two representatives in the Sigerson final on Saturday past on opposing sides. Obviously there could only be one winner but nonetheless the achievement is in reaching the final hurdle. Well done to Caolan Tierney who collected a winner's medal with Queens and to Ronan McRory who was runner-up with UUJ. Niall Cassidy also deserves mention as he picked up a Trench Cup medal with John Moore's University, Liverpool on what was a busy weekend in many respects for the club. Again we remind all membership draw coordinators to begin collecting their moneys for the first of our four draws which will take place on Monday 19th March. The drawn letters for this week's alpha lot were; C, D, L, Y & Z. We had neither jackpot nor match 4 winners which leaves the top prize at £22,700 for next week. Rex Colhoun, Francie Mulgrew, Eamon Tierney and Katrina O'Donnell each won £25 in the lucky dip. All members are asked to note that the next meeting is this Monday (12th) in Askins at 8pm sharp and on a final note we wish Mark Harte and Sinead the very best as they eventually make the long walk down the isle!
