THIS weekend, venues throughout the county will join the rest of the world in celebrating the feast of
St Patrick. And a host of events have been planned to mark the annual national holiday.
Omagh this year will celebrate St Patrick's Day in style under the theme 'Celebrating Our Cultures.'
This cross-community event will be a spectacular cavalcade of floats, bands and people in flamboyant costume bringing Omagh town centre to life in a colourful and magical celebration of St Patrick.
The parade weaves through the town centre after leaving the Leisure Centre at 1.30pm. Local schools, businesses, sporting organisations and bands within Tyrone will create an exciting carnival atmosphere.
This will be followed by an open-air concert at the courthouse featuring a mixture of traditional and contemporary Scottish and Irish music for everyone to enjoy. Artists include Scottish band Dochas and local favourites More Power to Your Elbow.
In addition to this St Eugene's Band, Omagh Youth Community Choir, traditional Irish musicians and a piper will also make appearances and there will be a mixture of Scottish and Irish dancing coming together to enjoy.
From 1-5pm, the St Patrick's Day Arts and Craft Fair will take place in Omagh town centre.
