Thanks for Smoking in Omagh College

Screen Twelve is back in Omagh College on Thursday, April 26 at 8pm with the highly acclaimed film, Thank-you for Smoking. A clever comedy, superbly written and directed by Jason Reitman, Thank You For Smoking follows master of spin, big tobacco spokesman Nick Naylor as he works to defend and promote smoking to an increasingly sceptical American public.

Tobacco lobbyist Nick Naylor is the man charged with defending the public image of the much maligned cigarette industry. Blessed with the gift of the gab and an unstoppable ego, the master of 'spin' won't let anything get in the way of a well-argued case. Confronted by bloodthirsty health fanatics and an opportunistic senator, Naylor goes on a PR offensive until his new found notoriety earns him the attention of a big tobacco head honcho and a smouldering young Washington reporter who'll do anything to get her story. Suddenly put under pressure by his young son, Nick faces the biggest question of his career: is lying the most powerful addiction of all?

There is something magical about watching a good film with other people that you just don't get watching it at home on DVD so don't miss this opportunity to get out of the house and see Thank you for Smoking.

A short discussion will follow and continue in Rue. For more information visit Screen Twelve's website on bebo http://screentwelve.bebo.com

Screen Twelve will also be holding an open meeting on Thursday, May 3 at 8pm in Bar Rue for anyone that would like to be involved with the film club.
