Internet arks, gifts and Irish shopping

ARKive.com is leading the virtual conservation effort of finding, sorting cataloguing and copying key records of species the world over. ARKive.com is a centralised digital library of films, photographs and associated recordings of endangered species. Given the increasing habitat destruction and the current extinction crisis ARKive.com is proving to be an invaluable scientific and historical record. It has been described as the 'Noah's Ark for the Internet era' and through the emotive images displayed, environmentalists aim to educate the public about the need for conservation. ARKive.com contains two main chapters, The Globally Endangered Chapter and The British Chapter. The first features the worlds endangered and protected species and the latter features endangered and protected species within the UK with common species to follow. There are numerous projects, which will inform you of all you need to know. Although this site is accessible to anyone the world over it is an excellent resource for schools.
