Chieftain marks 25 years with two-day party
CHIEFTAIN Trailers of Coalisland the market leaders of trailer manufacturing in Ireland celebrated 25 years in business last Friday by opening its new and extended factory of 80,000 sq ft for a two-day event.
Family and friends of managing director John Quinn gathered with local politicians, loyal customers and guests from all over Ireland, England Scotland and Wales and customers who travelled from Sweden and Poland. With the official opening of the new factory, Chieftain also launched new products including the 5-axle stepframe and Mountaineer forklift.
UTV's Adrian Logan was Master of ceremonies with evening music by Paul Cummings and Good Company, as well as Jokers Wild.
The celebration event was a credit to John Quinn, who started with only five employees and himself . Still a familybusiness, three of John's children are now involved: Shane is UK Area Sales Manager, Paul is Fitting Shop Co-ordinator and Louise is Office Manager. Chieftain Trailers now employs over 130 people. The opening of the new factory has seen the recruitment grow substantially over the recent months and that is set to continue in the near future.
Jim Canning of Coalisland and District Development Association welcomed the development of Chieftain Trailers saying, "home-grown industry is more secure than external industries".
