Charolais class and family fun at Fintona show event

A SERIES of entertainment and attractions to treat families before the children go back to school has been organised at Ecclesville Equestrian Centre, Fintona, on Saturday (September 1). They can enjoy taking part in the fun activities or enjoy the nostalgia provided and artwork as the blacksmith plies his trade and a specialist wood carver demonstrates his craft. There will also be threshing demonstration.

This is also the 10th anniversary of the NI National Charolais Show and Family Fun Day at Fintona. John McGrath, chairman of the NI Charolais Club commented, " Our first show was in 1997 and was an outstanding success. We have developed the event even further each year and it is now a packed programme of attractions for all the family as well as a cattle exhibition."

Fifty pedigree bulls and 39 pedigree females have been entered for the NI National Charolais Show along with an outstanding display of commercial stock. Judging will be ongoing all day and visitors may pop in and out of the viewing area to check on the success of each age group of cattle.

All of the family can try their had at sky jumping and the children can choose between the super slide and the bouncy castle. The more adventurous can have a go on the quad bikes and when they need a rest can admire the expertise of the special wood carver, find out about the ancient craft of the blacksmith or watch the threshing demonstration. And if you fancy 'a change of face' why not get your fact painted at the event.

The fun day and cattle show takes place at Ecclesville Equestrian Centre, Fintona on Saturday 1 September, and is being organised by the Northern Ireland Charolais Club in conjunction with Omagh District Council in order to provide a wonderful day of family entertainment with activities for all age groups and abilities. Admission is free and activities and judging commence at 11.00am.
