A motorist who lost control of his car on a corner and skidded into a bus has been convicted of driving without due care and attention.
William Nigel Dougherty (41) of Moylagh Road, Beragh was fined £200 and had five penalty points endorsed on his driving licence when he appeared before the magistrate's court for the offence.
The collision occurred on November 5 last year close to Seskinore when the defendant's car skidded and 'swung around' causing extensive damage to the front of the on-coming bus. The court was told there were no injuries to any of the parties to the accident and that the road was 'greasy' at the time. Defence solicitor Michael Fahy said his client had paid for the damage caused to the bus through his insurance.
Dougherty was allowed 10 weeks to pay the fine.
