Abusive towards police

A Drumquin man who became abusive towards police officers when they tried to break up a fracas has been convicted of disorderly behaviour at the magistrates court.

Scott Alexander Liggett (20) of Omagh Road told the police to 'f- off' and raised his fists to within inches of an officer's face during the incident on Bridge Street in Omagh on August 26 last year. He has been fined £300 and bound over on the sum of £600 to keep the peace for two years.

Barrister Michael Chambers said Liggett was embarrassed about his behaviour and apologised to the police.
