If you've got it, flaunt it as the North's business hub!

THERE are only three weeks left to enter your bid to be named the most enterprising place in Northern Ireland.

The regional heats of Enterprising Britain 2007, a nationwide search to find the UK's capital of enterprise, close on Friday, May 4, and towns, cities and rural areas across Northern Ireland are encouraged to enter.

The competition, launched in February by Invest Northern Ireland, wants to identify Northern Ireland's most enterprising hotspot: a place that has created jobs, brought communities together, and made a real difference to local businesses and local people. The winning entry will go forward to compete in the national finals of Enterprising Britain 2007.

Graham Davis, Invest NI director of local economic development, said, "Northern Ireland is rapidly becoming home to some of the most inspiring entrepreneurs and enterprises in the United Kingdom. Enterprising Britain 2007 is an opportunity to be recognised for this and show the rest of the UK why Northern Ireland should be rightly viewed as an entrepreneurial hub."

The competition, run by the Department of Trade and Industry, in partnership with the Regional Development Agencies and Devolved Administrations, is open to towns, cities and communities as well as public-private partnerships between public authorities and entrepreneurs, educational programmes and business organisations.

The regional shortlist will be announced on Monday, May 14, before the regional winner is announced on Monday, May 28.
