THE Ulster American Folk Park's Agricultural Curator, Liam Corry will be lining up alongside thousands of other runners to tackle the 26.2 miles of the Dublin Marathon at the end of this month (October 29).
The charity run has been organised by the Omagh Lions Club to raise much needed funds for the local branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a condition of the central nervous system. It is the most common disabling neurological disease among young adults and affects around 85,000 people in the UK. It is thought that between 3,500 and 4,000 people have MS in Northern Ireland.
Established in 1956 and with almost 2,000 members, The MS Society provides support to people affected by Multiple Sclerosis all across Northern Ireland making a real difference to people who live with the condition.
Showing their ability to go the extra mile for this worthy cause, the Lions Club were delighted at the opportunity to team up Liam to launch a local-based fund-raising campaign around this international event.
Michael McCrossan, President of Omagh Lions Club commented, "We are delighted to support the work of the Omagh Branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society as their contribution provides an invaluable local service to our community. We hope everyone can show their support by making a donation and we would like to take this opportunity to wish
Liam all the best in his challenge."
