Strule Arts Centre Omagh is delighted to announce its first ever Children's Festival which will take place from May 11 until May 18.
Working in partnership with Sticky Fingers Tour, the festival will feature three great theatre performances specially devised for young children. With theatre companies are coming from Scotland, Germany and England, organisers hope families from Omagh and beyond will enjoy this experience of seeing professional performances especially devised for this age group.
THE MAN WHO PLANTED TREES
On Monday next the Scottish Theatre Company, Puppet State present their critically acclaimed show, The Man Who Planted Trees. Described as a "unique blend of comedy, puppetry and inspiring storytelling" this is an unforgettable story that shows us the difference one man (and his dog!) can make to the world. The show is suitable for children age 7 and upwards. There are two performances 11am and 7pm, the tickets are £5.
WOODBEAT
The wonderful Helios Theatre Company, based in Germany, bring their production Woodbeat on Friday May 15, with performances at 11am and 4pm tickets £4. Suitable for age 2 upwards, this is a gentle exploration of wood in obvious and surprisingly new ways by a puppeteer and percussionist. By creating figures and creatures, situations, stories, objects and tools they take the audience with them on a fascinating journey into wooden pictures and sounds.
CIRCLES IN THE SAND
The little ones will be greatly entertained by Tam Tam Theatre Company's interactive show 'Circles in the Sand' on Monday May 18.
With performances at 11am, 2pm and 4pm, tickets £4. This gentle piece sees the performer exploring, discovering and playing in sand and at the end the children get to have a go at playing in the sand too.
Events are taking place both in and out of school time so schools, groups and families can attend. Come along and enjoy this bright fun festival. Tickets are selling quickly so book now at www.struleartscentre.co.uk or phone 028 8224 7831.
